project/progetto: MTA Associati, Studio Laila Filippi, MCZERO, TECHNOThe competition project proposed changes to the preliminary draft submitted earlier regarding the layout, to improve the quality of light in the teaching areas and the relationship with external spaces, to protect the school with a ring of vegetation and gardens and to improve bioclimatic efficiencies.
The school complex, classified as a class A, was designed with particular attention to its orientation, the quality of the housing and the use of plants for cooling and heating spaces powered by renewable energy sources. The goal was to combine the needs of children and those of educators with an eco-friendly architectural proposal that used eco-friendly materials, was low in energy consumption and would also embody the new centrality that the school would take on in the neighbourhood of Villamarina.
